Remember :

In the dictionary it says that to tell a lie is to purposely say something that is not true because you want to make other people believe it.

Some reasons why some people tell lies are  :

To avoid punishment
To avoid being laughed at or embarrassed
To get others into trouble
To get their own way

When you are a little kid you use your imagination a lot and don't always know what is true and what isn't.

As you get older you learn the difference between what is true and what isn't.

If everybody listened to their consciences then the world would be a place where people could trust each other.That would mean that no one would get hurt by other people's lies and that would an awesome thing, wouldn't it?
